Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Buyer to join our procurement team. In this role, you will assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary for our operations. You will work closely with senior buyers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and optimal pricing while maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior buyers and program managers to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services.
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing goods and services according to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy of order details, pricing, and terms.
- Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Material Control Team to optimize stock levels.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement.
Qualifications:
- Have a knack for analytical/problem solving.
- Good vocal and written communication.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, materials management, and supply chain principles.
- Experience using ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with e-commerce platforms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for pricing and contract evaluations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
