Safavieh is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Buyer to support our Lighting and Accessories buying team. This position would assist in managing product selection, vendor relationships, and inventory coordination. The role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in home furnishings, a keen eye for style and trends, and the organizational skills to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment. The Junior Buyer will assist with purchase orders, product tracking, sample management, and supplier communication to ensure timely and accurate delivery. What You’ll Do:

  • Source & Select: Assist in identifying, sourcing, and selecting exciting new products that align with our brand aesthetic and customer demand.
  • Trend Tracking: Conduct market research to stay ahead of the curve in home design, color, and lifestyle trends.
  • Placing Orders: Manage the purchase order process, including drafting, issuing, and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Inventory Management: Help manage product inventory, track performance, and analyze sales data to inform future buying decisions.
  • Reporting & Accounting Management: Provide timely maintenance, development, and distribution of sales & inventory reports, and handle day-to-day general administrative tasks.
  • Vendor Relations: Build strong, collaborative relationships with new and existing suppliers.
  • Sales Enablement: Communicate with internal sales teams to ensure they have all the most up-to-date information needed to support their sales accounts and clients effectively.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, tracking deliverables and deadlines to meet expectations. This includes daily communication and follow-up across various managers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, , Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, merchandising, or inventory management preferred.
  • Experience within retail, e-commerce or wholesale environments is a plus.
  • Experience tracking purchase orders, lead times, and vendor performance.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing principles, vendor relations, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and inventory management software

Compensation:

  • $27.00 to 28.00/ hour + commission at 6 months
