We're seeking a Junior Designer to support our residential design and construction projects on Bainbridge Island. This is perfect for someone who wants hands-on experience working across design, drafting, and construction coordination. You'll be involved in everything from producing drawings and renderings to preparing client presentations and supporting project documentation.
What You’ll Do:
Design & Drafting
- Draft plans, elevations, and details in CAD/Revit/SketchUp
- Use 2020 Design software for kitchen and bathroom cabinet design packages
- Create accurate measurements and technical drawings
- Update plans and drawings as client decisions or field changes occur
Client Facing Work
- Prepare design presentation materials (renderings, mood boards, material selections)
- Sit in on client meetings and document design follow-ups
- Present finish options including paint colors, wallpaper, cabinet hardware, fixtures, and toilets
- Help clients understand design concepts and make informed decisions
Project Coordination & Purchasing
- Assist with sourcing materials, fixtures, and finishes
- Support purchasing and ordering processes
- Follow up on orders and ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers
- Help keep project design files, samples, and specifications organized
Support permitting and submittal packages
- Interior Design Focus
- Design kitchen and bathroom layouts and finishes
- Select and specify interior finishes for all spaces
- Coordinate cabinet hardware, fixtures, and finish selections
- Develop cohesive design schemes across multiple rooms
- Create material boards and finish schedules
MUST be able to work out of our Bainbridge office.
Required Experience
- Degree in architecture, interior design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency with drafting and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar)
Preferred Experience
- Experience with 2020 Design software or similar kitchen/bath design programs
- Understanding of construction processes and buildability
- Previous experience in residential design or construction
Required Skills & Attributes
- Exceptional attention to detail , accuracy in measurements, specifications, and documentation is critical
- Initiative and follow-through, ability to proactively manage tasks and follow up without constant reminders
- Honest, upfront communication, comfortable delivering updates, raising concerns, and admitting mistakes early
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Professional demeanor for client interactions
- Willingness to pitch in on a variety of tasks in a small-team environment
This position will work closely with our current design team and involves significant client interaction. You'll have the opportunity to learn our design systems and processes while contributing to all phases of residential projects. There is lots of opportunity for growth and expanded responsibilities for the right candidate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
