Junior Demand Planner

Position : Junior Demand Planner

Department : Demand Planning, Supply

Reports to : Demand Planning Manager

Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid in office 3-days/week)


Job summary : The Demand Planner supports the demand planning process by assisting with forecasting, inventory monitoring, and production planning activities. This role partners closely with the Demand Planning Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data, timely reporting, and strong customer service levels. The position is ideal for an early-career professional seeking to build skills in forecasting and supply chain planning.

Essential job functions:

  • Assist in preparing monthly demand forecasts for the assigned Categories using historical sales and order data
  • Support analysis of historical sales, trends, and promotions to inform forecast inputs
  • Incorporate inputs from Sales, Marketing, and Product teams into demand plans
  • Support the process for the forecast on new products with analysis of previous similar products
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and training opportunities
  • Prepare inventory reports including availability, slow movers and closeouts
  • Assist in creating dashboards and planning reports for management review

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Comfortable working in Excel and spreadsheet-based analysis.
  • Basic understanding of demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain concepts.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, analytics, operations, or related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years’ experience in supply chain, planning, operations, inventory, or data analysis roles.
  • Internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, operations, or planning environments is a plus.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems preferred but not required.
