Junior Interior Designer (Residential Design-Build)

We’re looking for a junior interior designer who loves the process of bringing a home to life, from the first idea through construction, and wants to grow into a strong, well-rounded designer.

At Kaage Homes, we specialize in historic homes, thoughtful renovations, and new builds that feel like they’ve always been there. Our work is rooted in creating spaces that are beautiful, layered, and timeless, but also highly intentional in how they’re built.

This is a hands-on role for someone early in their career who wants real exposure to the full design process. You’ll work closely with our team to develop ideas, drawings, and selections, and see how those decisions carry through into construction.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the design team across multiple projects, including:

• Assisting with layouts, interior elevations, and cabinetry drawings
• Helping build material palettes and source selections
• Development of design presentations, documentation and client materials
• Sitting in on client meetings and learning how to guide decisions
• Assisting with project coordination and day-to-day design tasks
• Participating in consultations at our showroom, The Workshoppe

We’re looking for someone who…

• Has 1–3 years of experience in interior design (residential preferred)
• Has a strong eye and a genuine interest in beautiful, timeless spaces
• Is eager to learn how design translates into construction
• Is comfortable working in CAD or similar drafting software
• Is organized, detail-oriented, and follows through
• Communicates well and enjoys working as part of a team
• Is excited by historic homes and the character that comes with them

Tools (helpful, not all required)

CAD required
Chief Architect, SketchUp, or Enscape a plus
Adobe / Canva for presentations

Winnetka, IL (in person)

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
