SMZ is seeking a Junior Editor / Motion Graphics Artist to bring brands to life through strong storytelling, skilled editing and thoughtful motion design. From editing long- and short-form video to animating motion graphics, you’ll play a hands-on role shaping content across platforms.

You’ll work with a diverse roster of local and national brands, collaborating closely with our Creative team to grow your craft while delivering meaningful work for our clients.

A portfolio or link to recent editing and motion work is required (social, branded, personal or school projects welcome).

Responsibilities

• Edit video content across social, digital and broadcast — from rough cut to final delivery.
• Design and animate motion graphics for campaigns and brand storytelling.
• Collaborate with writers and art directors to execute creative concepts.
• Adapt content for multiple platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, OTT, etc.), adjusting specs and formats.
• Support post-production workflows, including asset organization and file prep.
• Apply basic color correction, audio cleanup and sound polish.
• Maintain organized project files and media libraries.
• Incorporate feedback efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Stay current on editing tools, motion trends and platform best practices.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of editing or motion experience (agency, in-house, freelance or academic).
• Strong portfolio demonstrating editing and motion capabilities.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects; working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Understanding of motion fundamentals, typography and pacing.
• Familiarity with platform specs and digital delivery requirements.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Collaborative, coachable and motivated to grow in a hybrid environment.
• Accountable, passionate and dedicated.
• Must love — or at least tolerate — office dogs.
