About the Role
We are seeking motivated and technically skilled Junior FFA Technicians to join our marine service team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidates will assist in the inspection, testing, servicing, maintenance, and certification of marine fire-fighting appliances and life-saving equipment in compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of marine fire-fighting appliances (FFA).
- Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of portable and fixed fire-fighting systems onboard vessels and offshore installations.
- Inspect and service fire extinguishers, fire hoses, hydrants, nozzles, fireman outfits, SCBA sets, EEBDs, gas detection equipment, and related safety equipment.
- Support the inspection and maintenance of fixed fire suppression systems, including CO₂, FM-200, Novec 1230, foam, and dry powder systems.
- Perform pressure testing, refilling, hydrostatic testing, and cylinder handling activities as required.
- Prepare service reports, inspection records, checklists, and documentation accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, including SOLAS, IMO, Classification Society requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Assist senior technicians during onboard service jobs, annual inspections, and audits.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop facilities in a clean and serviceable condition.
- Follow company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures at all times.
- Attend vessel calls, offshore jobs, and site visits as assigned by the supervisor.
- Coordinate with customers and vessel representatives professionally during service activities.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and competency.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the FFA field, marine fire-fighting services, safety equipment servicing, or a similar technical role.
- Diploma, ITI, Technical Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, Fire & Safety, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of marine fire-fighting equipment and safety systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and service procedures.
- Good communication skills in English.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
