Junior Financial and Reporting Analyst

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Financial and reporting analyst to join our team and drive our financial analysis, planning, and reporting efforts. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in corporate finance, accounting, and data visualization to support strategic decision-making and optimize financial performance. Your proactive approach and strong analytical skills will empower our organization to achieve its financial goals through meticulous data collection, insightful analysis, and innovative reporting.

Description:

  • Compile and summarize financial and operational data into reports that are organized, clear, and presented in a concise manner and in accordance with reporting deadlines.
  • Accurately and timely prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and Statutory reports.
  • Research and study existing and new legislation and advice management on needed actions to comply with Federal, State, and Local legal requirements.
  • Assist in the development of existing reports and/or design and build new reports in Excel to meet user needs and maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Timely preparation of financial reporting, including tables and charts.
  • Assist and/or prepare shareholder reports and presentations including but not limited to Annual Shareholder’s Report.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget, other forecast report, and supporting worksheets.
  • Analyze financial information to evaluate accounting implications and making recommendations, as necessary.
  • Analyze EPMS and other system data presented. Report results of the analysis to Management.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year end close activities and ensure they are accurate and timely prepared.
  • Prepare and review month end journal entries.
  • Identify and communicate any issues that affect the accuracy of the accounting records.
  • Provide recommendation to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Document all cancellations in Monthly’s Cancellation Reports.
  • Report to Accounts Payable Clerk a list of outstanding checks over six months from issuance.
  • Record service charges, merchant charges and bank charges, interest to correct GL account.
  • Register internal transfers.
  • Provide support during external and regulatory audits through analysis and compilation of information.
  • Assist in special projects and analytical projects as directed.
  • Assist Financial Analyst Supervisor and VP Corporate Financial Controller in other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in accounting and/or finance.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in insurance accounting, preferable.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Ability to provide recommendations to improve operations and financial reports.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete work on schedule.Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 (Peachtree).
  • Proficient in data entry.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable.
  • Must have strong work ethics and confidentiality.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Spanish, Bilingual.
