ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented, innovative, and collaborative graphic designer to join our growing team at Blulabs. As our new Graphic Designer, you will be involved in many aspects of our design efforts and work closely with the product, packaging, and retail teams to bring new concepts to life. This role reports directly to the Design Director and collaborates across product, packaging, and retail teams to deliver high-quality design assets across multiple brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Design Execution
- Work on a wide range of projects including packaging graphics and CADs for food service products (cutlery, restaurant to-go packaging), nitrile & latex gloves, and retail wellness and fitness products (self-care, massage guns, therapy products, etc.).
- Clean and retouch images, and execute other design-related projects as needed by the team.
- Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the brand or product line appropriately.
B. Project & Workflow Management
- Work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects with the guidance of the Design Director and leadership team.
- Meet deadlines and schedule project implementation based on prioritization and workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects across multiple brands.
C. Process Improvement & Asset Management
- Examine existing design processes, identify flaws, and create solutions to improve overall design capabilities.
- Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video assets.
D. Product Research & Merchandising
- Assist in researching and merchandising new products for the retail wellness division to propose to retail buyers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
- Expertise in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Exceptional creativity and design skills with the ability to take incomplete input and make strategic design decisions.
- Detail-oriented, comfortable working on both innovative and detail-driven creative projects.
Preferred
- Strong experience working in Illustrator with a portfolio featuring CPG product or packaging design.
- CAD experience.
- Photography experience and proficiency with Photoshop.
- Experience working in a startup or growth-stage company environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Proven desire to continue growing skills through ongoing education and training.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or a related discipline.
