As a member of Windward School’s Communications Office, the Temporary (6-7 months) Junior Graphic Designer will be a key team player with self-driven abilities who thrives in a fast-paced and engaging work environment. This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior designer looking to build their portfolio and gain office experience to grow a wide range of skills in a professional setting.
Essential Functions:

Works closely with the Communications team to respond to requests from a wide range of clients from within the school community (administrators, faculty, parent committees, department heads, etc.)

Designs promotional and event collateral, including graphics, images, logos, and ads, for both print and web

Articulate Windwards’ brand identity in conjunction with the Director of Communications and Public Relations and the Associate Head of School for Advancement, Finance, and Operations

Supports the Director of Communications and Public Relations in finalizing the 2025-26 Windward yearbook
-
Creates fliers to advertise campus events
-
Designs and updates Board of Trustee PowerPoints and materials
-
Creates one-sheets to promote school and summer camp programs
-
Packages and delivers appropriate files to vendors (outside designers, printers, etc.) prior to production

Collaborates with other members of the Advancement team to produce

Manages visual assets for school marquees ensuring they are optimally sized and reflect the relevant content (Summer)

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or bachelor’s degree in a related field with a certificate from a university design program

One to three years of professional graphic design experience

Experience in Education (K-12 or higher education) a plus

Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.)
