ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages, directs and coordinates teen programs. Programs include, but are not limited to, Teen REACH after school care, days out of school program, summer day camp, teen and young adult workshops and quarterly family events. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel (part-time and seasonal) and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget plans and grant funded program requirements. Operates software related to grant reporting including, Ecornerstone and Business Objectives.
Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas and grant requirements. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
Provides coverage for sites and/or programs on an as needed basis, adjusting schedules as needed for program coverage.
Provides oversight for all Teen REACH program off site locations; duties include being present at sites and rotating between sites every Monday through Friday.
Responsible for forming a Teen REACH Youth and Parent Advisory Council. Hosts and plans quarterly Advisory Council meetings.
Collaborates with childcare cabinet to develop monthly calendar of curriculum and activities. Researches, develops and implements evidence-based curriculum that integrates career exploration, STEM initiatives and practical life skills into daily programming.
Coordinates field trips for summer day camp and any transportation needed.
Coordinates all monthly safety drills, gathers needed documentation and holds staff accountable for completion.
Develops and maintains relationships with IDHS, school administration, Teen Reach Liaisons, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Coordinates and oversees multiple workshops each year for Teens, Young Adults and their families.
Orders supplies as needed to support curriculum and staff needs. Coordinates meal and snack distribution and becomes trained by the Northern Illinois Food Bank in food distribution for both the SFSP and CACFP feeding programs and/or school district nutrition services.
Leads registration process and maintains proper records/department files.
Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
Attends mandatory departmental and program cabinet meetings and completes all required trainings, as necessary.
Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
Compiles program statistics, monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program and performs regular audits of program sites to ensure quality program delivery.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs.
Required trainings within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens; Active Shooter; Sexual Harassment Prevention and Slip, Trip and Fall trainings.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children’s activities.
