Junior HR Generalist

The Junior HR Generalist, Core HR is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations and ensuring positive employee experience. This role provides comprehensive support across all HR functions. This role administers key HR processes including, supporting employee lifecycle, compliance, status changes, timekeeping for accurate payroll processing and serves as back up to core HR functions.
**The annual compensation for this position is $55,000
This role is a full-time, hybrid position and must meet the hybrid work requirements to come to our office in Lindale, Texas for this role based on location- those in Texas (weekly basis) or those in Oklahoma (quarterly basis).

How You’ll Contribute
Core HR

Employee Support & Service Excellence:
  • Support across all HR functions contributing to overall HR projects and initiatives under guidance of Sr. HR Staff.
  • Serve as an HR resources triaging questions to appropriate HR resource and help staff navigate HR processes efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional care to staff while delivering services.
  • Deliver a positive experience focusing on meeting needs of stakeholders.
Employee Life Cycle Support & Status Change Processing
  • Under guidance, own timely and accurate processing of transfers, department restructures, promotions and offboarding process, within 48 hours of receiving final documents to processing.
  • Collaborate and communicate, providing timely status updates to stakeholders (e.g. Manager's, Operations, Employees) regarding processing of changes.
  • Collaborate with internal team and payroll to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintains accurate records/documentation and accurate administration of changes within the HRIS system.
  • Provide back-up support for contractor management to ensure continuity
  • Supports off boarding responsible for tracking of equipment return for departing employees
  • Proves backup support for new hire administrative tasks.
Time Keeping:
  • Review daily/weekly to prepare for payroll processing
  • Act as liaison for timekeeping review between benefits admin, staff, and managers.
  • Act as point of contact for managers in assisting managers with employee timesheets/payroll readiness.
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to clarify timekeeping issues and ensure compliance with company policies and labor law.
  • Reviewing timesheets working with managers to resolve errors that impact pay.
  • Provide managers support in HRIS timekeeping, PTO and schedules.
HR Administrative and Compliance Support
  • Responsible for updating job descriptions and ensuring timely requests for changes.
  • Maintain job descriptions, update existing roles, file previous versions, format consistently and ensure key requirements are accurately documented. Routinely audit job descriptions.
  • Support onsite volunteer programs, process volunteers, access, background checks, applications and departures.
  • Review and process employee change timely. W4, addresses, marital status
  • Process system access requests for employee groups.
  • Work with IT, HRIS, Payroll to process employee name changes.
  • Provide administrative support towards compliance initiatives, reporting, audits, state specific practices.
Miscellaneous

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Business Management or Human Resources preferred). Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative field required; prior experience in a Human Resource function is preferred. Or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and employee lifecycle.
  • Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
**Compensation range listed is for U.S. hires only. Actual compensation may vary dependent upon location of hire.
