Job Summary: (GARMENT MFG EXPERIENCE REQD)
We are looking for a Junior Industrial Engineer to support productivity, efficiency, and process improvement initiatives in our woven and denim garment manufacturing facility. The role requires hands-on shop-floor involvement and basic expertise in work study, SMV setting, line balancing, and Lean manufacturing, working closely with senior IE and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Productivity & Line Efficiency
- Assist in time & motion studies and accurate SMV calculations for woven and denim styles
- Support line balancing to improve manpower and machine utilization
- Monitor line efficiency, output, and operator productivity
- Prepare daily production and efficiency reports and highlight gaps
Process & Style Support
- Support process analysis across cutting, sewing, washing, finishing, and packing
- Assist in handling heavy fabrics, multi-operation styles, and complex constructions
- Participate in pilot runs and style engineering before bulk production
Planning & Cost Support
- Assist in manpower planning and capacity studies
- Identify bottlenecks, idle time, and rework points on the shop floor
- Support cost control initiatives and basic productivity improvement actions
Lean & Continuous Improvement
- Support implementation of Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction
- Assist in improving workstation layout, material flow, and ergonomics
Training & Coordination
- Support training of operators and supervisors on standard methods and best practices
- Help document SOPs and standard operating procedures
- Coordinate with production, quality, planning, and maintenance teams
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Improvement in line efficiency
- Accuracy of SMV and work study data
- Productivity per operator
- Reduction in idle time and line losses
- Adherence to production plans
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in woven or denim garment manufacturing
- Hands-on exposure to work study, SMV calculation, and line balancing
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Proficiency in MS Excel
