Junior Interior Design Drafting Technician (Resume & Portfolio Required)

About Us

Tawnya L. Coleman Interior Design is a high-end residential design firm specializing in kitchen, bath, and full-home projects. We are a small, collaborative team working on custom remodels, new construction, and full-service interior design. Our projects range from high end kitchen and bath remodels to full custom homes, with a strong focus on detailed, buildable design documentation. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across real projects, build a strong portfolio, and grow within the interior design industry.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Interior Design Drafting Technician to support our lead designers with drafting, renderings, and design presentations. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is technically skilled, organized, and eager to grow in kitchen, bath, and residential interior design.

What You’ll Do

• Independently produce computer generated dimensioned floor plans, elevations, and conceptual lighting layouts based on designs provided by lead designer(s) for active residential projects.
• Produce 3D renderings for client presentations.
• Collaboration with the design team on multiple active projects

Required Qualifications

• Completion of at least one college-level course in interior design drafting, space planning, or similar utilizing drafting software programs OR 1+ year experience using interior design drafting software
• Experience with at least one design program (Chief Architect preferred; AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar also accepted)
• Portfolio required (student or professional work accepted)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience in kitchen & bath drafting presentations
• Associate degree in interior design, architecture, or related field
• Familiarity with material selections (cabinetry, fixtures, finishes, etc.)

Schedule Options

We offer flexible, in-office, part-time scheduling:

• Option A: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Option B: 3 full days per week (Monday required), 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
