JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER:
MARA Interior Design (MID) is a well-respected, high-end luxury residential and commercial interior design boutique. MID collaborates with discerning clientele, respected architectural firms, contractors, and developers in Arizona.
Our studio is actively involved with exciting local projects and we are seeking a Junior Interior Designer who can complement our team. The ideal candidate will need to have a strong work ethic and enjoy a fast paced, hard-working team-oriented environment. Candidates should have exceptional interior design skills with an ambition and passion to provide a seamless execution of all aspects of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of design principles demonstrated through creating plans, elevations, and architectural details to illustrate the design intent and of materials.
- Work closely with principal designer to create design presentations, materials, and design concepts to include CAD drawings, concept images, finish materials, color palettes, fixtures, hardware, furniture, and lighting.
- Manage assigned projects from start of design process through to completion of construction and installation, including attending or directing team meetings with client, architect, and builder.
- Maintain and document continuous accurate communication with all team members.
- Communicate all designs in AutoCAD including custom design details, elevations, floorplans, furniture layouts and RCP’s, based on architect Xref drawings.
- Create specifications for project documentation, maintain revisions as they occur.
- Visit jobsites and fabrication shops as needed.
- Source and work with outside vendors to select and coordinate finishes, fixtures, and furniture.
- Prepare budgets and request quotes from vendors for FF&E to generate proposals for clients.
- Work closely with design team as projects enter the ordering phase to orchestrate procurement for furnishings, lighting, and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Interior Design.
- 2-3+ years of design experience required in a similar role.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, Dropbox, and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of interior design purchasing software such as Studio Designer is preferred.
- Basic math and excel skills in order to manage product budgets, calculate mark-ups, discounts, and sales tax.
- Proactive with a strong initiative and creative problem-solving ability.
- Highly organized with an affinity for creating systems to manage details.
- Knowledge of the interior design industry, vendors, and FF&E.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Professional with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Gracious and enjoys providing a high level of customer service.
- Comfortable with managing multiple projects at once.
Salary:
- 55-65k/annual – Competitive wages are offered based on experience.
