Role Description

We are seeking a Junior Interior Designer with 3+ years of professional experience to join our team in a part-time, hybrid role. This position is ideal for a highly organized, design-driven individual who is confident supporting projects from concept through installation. In this role, you will assist in space planning, drafting construction drawings, selecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), purchasing and executing orders, and collaborating with the owner on various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residential projects through all phases, from concept development to final installation
• Assist with occasional commercial workspace projects
• Produce detailed drawings, floor plans, and elevations in AutoCAD
• Develop polished client presentations and visual materials
• Create well-composed presentation boards with strong layout and graphic sensibility
• Source furniture, finishes, materials, and fixtures aligned with project direction
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and team members
• Assist with project management, timelines, and procurement tracking
• Attend site visits, installations, and client meetings as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional interior design experience (residential preferred)
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp (required)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, etc.)
• Demonstrated strength in layout, composition, and presentation graphics
• Excellent sourcing skills with a refined design sensibility
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
• Familiarity with Houzz or similar project management platforms (preferred)

Requirements

• Must be based in Los Angeles and available for in-person work in Culver City
• Reliable transportation for site visits, sourcing, and installations
• Own laptop and design software
• Comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Compensation

• $30–$35/hour, depending on experience
• 20–30 hours per week
• 1099 contractor position (no benefits)
• Opportunity for growth into a larger role over time
