Junior Lighting Designer

The Junior Lighting Designer is an aspiring, talented individual with a creative drive and who possesses a team player attitude. They should encompass technical and artistic skills as well as be eager to deliver exciting and unique projects. This budding professional will assist in all aspects of projects and play a key role in ensuring design is clearly expressed, studied, and documented. Ready to work in an open, collaborative, studio environment, the Junior Lighting Designer will quickly make themselves a key asset on a growing, productive, and driven team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Lighting Designers and Staff with production work (drafting, setup, photometrics, etc) and ensure projects are completed on time.
• Assist with research of lighting fixtures and equipment as part of the design process.
• Collaborate with the Design Team as well as the Technical Team as required in producing cohesive, successful projects.
• Attend lighting conferences and industry tradeshows to further expand and bolster your working knowledge of the craft.
• Attendance in-office is mandatory for a minimum (3) days per week as of 2/1/24 with (2) days being remote. In-office days to be determined by Senior Staff or Management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Lighting Design (architectural) or Architecture / Interior Design.
• 1 - 2 years of professional experience in a lighting or design studio.

• 3 - 5 years minimum professional experience in the field of architectural lighting design.
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Thorough knowledge of AGI32 a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to travel (domestic and international) as projects require (must have current passport).
• Must be living legally within the United States. No applicants living outside of the United States will be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
