As a Junior Logistician for the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) , you will play a critical role in the Navy's Hazardous Material Management (HMM) program. Your work will directly support Pollution Prevention (P2) and Hazardous Material Control and Management (HMC&M) goals—reducing hazardous waste generation and lowering disposal costs through efficient life-cycle management.
CHRIMP Support: Facilitate the implementation and operational sustainment of the Consolidated Hazardous Material Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) for both Ashore and Afloat units.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including OSHA statutes, the Pollution Protection (P2) Act, and the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA).
Inventory & Lifecycle Management: Execute procedures for HAZMAT identification, segregation, storage, and shelf-life management. Oversee material offload and turn-in for reuse or disposal.
Assessments & Tools: Conduct HAZMAT Locker Assessments and utilize specialized tools such as Authorized Use Lists (AUL), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Automated Information Technology (AIT).
System Sustainment: Support the deployment and sustainment of HAZMAT IT systems, specifically Navy ERP , to maintain high inventory accuracy.
Experience: At least 2 years of Navy or Marine Corps Logistics/Supply Chain experience.
Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of Department of Navy, federal, state, and/or local environmental policies and procedures.
Systems: Experience with Navy ERP (Material Management or Warehouse Management modules) is highly desired.
Background: Previous service as a Navy or Marine Corps enlisted logistics specialist is a plus.
Clearance/Background: Must be able to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) prior to starting.
Professionalism: Ability to work within the scope of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Centers (FLC) and Regional CHRIMP Centers (RCC).
Salary: $30-$34 Hour
