POSITION:- MAINTENANCE ENGINEER-JUNIOR
Job Purpose (Basic Function)
The Junior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting preventive and breakdown maintenance of powder coating and ED coating plant equipment to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production operations. The role includes equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and assisting senior engineers in maintaining plant reliability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Preventive & Routine Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for coating booths, ED lines, ovens, conveyors, pumps, motors, compressors, and related equipment.
- Ensure lubrication, cleaning, tightening, and component inspection as per maintenance plans.
- Assist in condition monitoring and report abnormalities.
2. Breakdown / Corrective Maintenance
- Attend machine breakdowns promptly and support troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic issues.
- Replace faulty parts and assist in restoring equipment to operational condition.
- Coordinate with senior engineers and production teams during breakdowns.
3. Process & Equipment Monitoring
- Monitor and record critical parameters such as oven temperature, conveyor speed, air pressure, pump flow, ED bath voltage, pH, and conductivity.
- Check coating guns, filters, spray systems, and ensure proper functioning.
- Report deviations that may affect production quality.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety protocols while handling machinery, chemicals, and electrical systems.
- Use PPE and ensure all safety guards, interlocks, and emergency systems are functioning.
- Support implementation of ISO, TPM, and 5S standards.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs for preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and spare parts usage.
- Support preparation of daily maintenance reports and equipment history records.
- Assist in preparing checklists and compliance documents.
6. Spare Parts & Inventory Support
- Help identify required spare parts and maintain inventory of critical consumables (filters, nozzles, bearings, sensors, etc.).
7. Coordination & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production and quality teams to address equipment-related process issues.
- Assist in Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Understanding of powder coating and ED coating processes (preferred).
- Ability to read engineering drawings and follow maintenance instructions.
- Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced production environment.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Graduate (BE -ELECTRICAL/ Diploma/ ITI in Electrical/ EEE or relevant field
