Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting, for various construction projects like buildings, Villas etc. This role involves close collaboration with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality MEP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.

* Address and resolve technical issues on-site with contractors and consultants.

* Develop mechanical system designs (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting) in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

* Prepare calculations, technical reports, and specifications.

* Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, and Pipe Flow Expert for design and analysis.

* Ensure compliance with local and international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, etc.).

Requirements:

* Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent certification.

* Minimum 5-7 years of experience in MEP design specifically in buildings ad high-end luxury villa projects.

* Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Pipe Flow Expert, and relevant MEP software.

* Expert knowledge of Dubai Building Codes, DEWA, DCD, DM, and other local authority regulations.

* Hands-on experience in MEP authority approval processes in Dubai.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.

* Have good knowledge and expertise in HVAC and Plumbing systems design.

* Responsible for the HVAC engineering design of air distribution and piping systems, to include specialty mechanical systems for new and renovated buildings.

* Prepare the design of the HVAC piping and air side systems to include the completion of code reviews, preparation of the basis of design, and system calculations.

* Preparation of Revit CAD drawings, specification preparation, field investigations, and other such design as required to execute the HVAC construction for new or renovated buildings.

* Ability to do the various HVAC related engineering tasks through a combination of drafting and engineering (performing building cooling demand load calculations, reviewing different HVAC design approaches, sizing equipment, and reviewing building energy consumption characteristics).

* Experience with HAP/ Trace/Hevacomp cooling load calculation software.

* Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and proper drafting methods and techniques.

* Understanding of standard industry software.

* Coordinating of the Engineering work between other members of the Building Services and Architectural teams.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Working knowledge of computer programs and web-based applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

* Logical and analytical thinking.

* Flexibility and adaptability.

* Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
