Junior Mechanical QC Engineer

We are hiring a Junior Mechanical QC Engineer on behalf of our client for ongoing Oil & Gas construction projects in the UAE. The role involves quality control activities across fabrication, inspection, and documentation, ensuring compliance with approved standards, codes, and project requirements.

This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on QC exposure in Oil & Gas, offshore/onshore projects, rigs, or shipbuilding environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review ITPs, procedures, and method statements for projects
  • Assign inspection and NDT activities to QC personnel and technicians
  • Manage and effectively utilize NDT technicians
  • Study and interpret AFC drawings, codes, standards, and specifications for acceptance and rejection
  • Coordinate with production teams and provide guidance on quality and error prevention
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions for production teams
  • Compile and report quality statistics, including defect rates
  • Represent QC in project meetings and provide daily / weekly quality updates
  • Coordinate with Clients / Third Party Inspectors (TPI) for quality-related activities
  • Ensure inspections are carried out as per approved ITPs and documentation is maintained properly
  • Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Conduct internal audits, including supplier prequalification audits
  • Prepare audit reports, corrective action reports, root cause analysis, and closure
  • Review and approve subcontractor QC documents prior to site start-up
  • Raise and assist in closing NCRs
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of project dossiers
  • Ensure compliance with HSES policies and procedures
  • Attend safety toolbox talks and safety walks, and suggest improvements

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Oil & Gas construction (onshore, offshore, rigs, or shipbuilding)
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification
  • CSWIP 3.2 / AWS – SCWI Welding Inspector certification
  • BGAS / NACE Painting Inspector certification
  • Good knowledge of relevant codes and standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken)
  • Strong computer skills

Preferred Candidate

  • Immediate joiner or candidates available within 15 days
  • Hands-on site QC experience
  • Strong coordination skills with clients, inspectors, and production teams

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED5,000.00 per month
