Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Engineer to support the design, installation, configuration, and commissioning of lighting control and smart automation systems. This role is ideal for candidates with a basic understanding of networking and automation technologies who are eager to develop hands-on experience in commercial, hospitality, and architectural projects.
Key Responsibilities1. Network Installation & Support
- Assist in the installation and configuration of network infrastructure for lighting control systems.
- Support setup of switches, routers, IP addressing, and basic network connectivity.
- Help maintain proper network organization and documentation.
- Assist senior engineers during network testing and commissioning activities.
2. Lighting Control System Support
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of lighting control systems such as:
- DALI / DALI-2
- DMX
- Dynalite
- Support integration activities between lighting controls and other building systems.
- Learn and assist with controller configuration, addressing, and device setup.
3. System Configuration Assistance
- Support configuration of lighting controllers, gateways, sensors, and user interfaces.
- Assist in creating lighting scenes, schedules, and basic automation functions.
- Follow project specifications and engineering guidelines provided by senior team members.
4. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
- Assist in identifying and resolving basic network and lighting control issues.
- Participate in system testing and functional verification.
- Provide first-level technical support during project execution.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when required.
5. Documentation
- Prepare and update:
- Network diagrams
- Device lists
- IP addressing records
- Testing and commissioning reports
- Maintain organized project documentation and records.
6. Team Coordination
- Work closely with:
- Senior Engineer
- Salesperson
- Electrical Contractors
- Site Supervisors
- Attend site meetings and support project coordination activities.
- Follow company procedures and safety requirements during site work.
Required Skills & QualificationsEducation
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Computer Engineering
- Network Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Information Technology
- Related technical field
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of:
- TCP/IP Networking
- IP Addressing and Subnetting
- DHCP and DNS
- Network Switches and Routers
- Exposure to lighting control systems or building automation is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn DALI, DMX, Dynalite, BACnet, and other control protocols.
Software & Tools
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Basic Networking Tools
- AutoCAD (basic knowledge preferred)
- Experience with lighting control software is an advantage but not mandatory.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in networking, automation, ELV, electrical systems, or related fields.
- Fresh graduates with relevant coursework, internships, or project experience are encouraged to apply.
