Position Summary
- Entry-to-mid level cybersecurity and network support role focused on patching, vulnerability remediation, and operational security
- Works under the direct mentorship of the Lead Network Security Engineer
- Primary focus on patch management, vulnerability reduction, and cybersecurity operations
- Secondary exposure to networking, firewalls, and cloud environments
- Developmental role designed to grow into a Network Security Engineer position
Contract to hire. 40 to 45 per hour.
Duration: 6 months to 1 year
Patching & Vulnerability Management (Primary)
- Execute the enterprise patch management program across servers, endpoints, and network devices
- Deploy, validate, and troubleshoot OS, firmware, and application patches
- Run vulnerability scans and assist with remediation tracking
- Generate reports on patch compliance and risk exposure
Cybersecurity Operations Support
- Monitor and investigate security alerts (EDR, IDS, etc.)
- Escalate incidents following defined runbooks
- Assist with firewall rule reviews and access control updates
- Support endpoint protection and identity/VPN security
Network Operations Support
- Monitor network health and availability
- Assist with network troubleshooting and VPN/connectivity issues
- Support Meraki, Cisco, and Fortinet environments under supervision
Infrastructure & Backup Support
- Assist with backup verification and restore testing
- Support basic server patching and infrastructure hygiene
- Perform basic cloud (OCI/AWS) maintenance tasks
Documentation & Operations
- Maintain asset inventory, patch records, and diagrams
- Follow change control procedures and operational standards
Governance Requirement
- All configuration changes and security-impacting actions must be reviewed and approved by the Lead Network Security Engineer
Learning & Growth
- Develop network security and infrastructure skills
- Participate in training and security awareness initiatives
- Work toward progression into a Network Security Engineer role
