Junior Operations/Dispatcher

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Operations/Dispatcher to join our dynamic LTL transport team. • You will start on the floor loading/unloading trucks to get to know our brand and what we do as a business
• Once progressed through the business you can expect to coordinate daily dispatch activities by scheduling and assigning freight loads to drivers using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, ensure timely deliveries, and troubleshoot routing issues in real-time.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter data accurately into shipping & receiving logs, AS400 systems, and other relevant platforms to ensure seamless record-keeping.
• Assist with shipping documentation, freight tracking updates, and delivery confirmations to support efficient supply chain operations.
• Support fleet management by coordinating vehicle maintenance schedules and reporting any logistical concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to optimize freight movement and resolve any dispatching challenges swiftly. Skills
• Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS), including Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Proficiency in using GPS devices, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software for route optimization.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple calls professionally using multi-line phone systems.
• Analytical skills for assessing logistics data, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing improvements.
• Experience with freight shipping & receiving procedures, as well as shipping documentation processes.
• Knowledge of fleet management practices and basic vehicle maintenance coordination.
• Typing speed and data entry accuracy for maintaining detailed logs and records efficiently.
• Familiarity with supply chain concepts, logistics operations, and transportation planning principles. Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
