Junior Paralegal - Humanitarian Team - Immigration Law Firm

Layde & Parra SC is an established immigration Law Firm in Milwaukee that was co-founded in 2017. Our focus is to represent and help guide thousands of immigrants in family petitions, consular processing, humanitarian visas, asylum/removal defense, and much more. We pride ourselves on delivering great outcomes and effective representation.

We are looking for a Junior paralegal for our Humanitarian team that is motivated and looking to make an impactful change in our clients’ lives.

Schedule/Hours

In office Setting

Full Time: Monday through Thursday 8am-6pm (40 Hours a week)

Closed Fridays

Responsibilities

• Work closely with and report to Senior Paralegal
• Implement office procedures and applications
• Complete administrative tasks when necessary
• Manage and track cases in case management software
• Meet with clients to gather evidence and personal data
• Client Data Entry
• Complete records requests from varying courts, offices, etc.
• Case assembly
• Translations
• Client communication, case status updates

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English
• Desire to serve undocumented immigrants with complex legal needs
• Bachelor’s degree, or Paralegal certificate
• Preferred 1+ years of related experience
• Strong Communication Skills
• Knowledge working with Microsoft word programs
• Proficient in computer/technology competency
• Excellent in time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Able to work in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time
