Junior Planning Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Planning Engineer to join our construction team. The role involves assisting in project planning, scheduling, and monitoring, along with preparing quantity take-offs and cost estimates for ongoing and upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in construction engineering concepts, analytical skills, and a keen interest in project controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of baseline programs, schedules, and project plans using tools such as Primavera P6 / MS Project.
• Prepare and review quantity take-offs from drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
• Support the estimation team in preparing cost estimates and resource requirements.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and report deviations.
• Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to update schedules and quantities.
• Support in identifying risks, delays, and resource constraints.
• Ensure accurate documentation of planning data, drawings, and reports.
• Participate in tendering activities by providing estimation and planning inputs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering / Construction Management.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience .
• Knowledge of construction planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project) is an advantage.
• Strong skills in AutoCAD, MS Office,MS Projects, and estimation tools.
• Understanding of quantity surveying and cost estimation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines.
