Junior Print Production Designer (Screen Printing & Embroidery) at Miami Mixed Media

We’re hiring!

Join the MMM Team!

Position: Junior Print Production Designer (Screen Printing & Embroidery)

Pay: $16–$18/hour (based on experience)

About Us

We’re Miami Mixed Media, a creative production company located in Miami’s Little River business district. For over 10 years, we’ve worked with brands, artists, and businesses to bring ideas to life through screen printing, embroidery, DTF, and live event activations.

At MMM, design doesn’t stop at the screen — it continues all the way to the press and the machine. We focus on quality, efficiency, and production-ready artwork, and we’re looking for someone early in their career who wants to grow inside a real production environment.

About the Role

This is a junior-level, hands-on production design role focused on preparing artwork for real-world garment printing.

We’re looking for someone with a solid design foundation who already has basic experience with color separation for screen printing and understands how digital artwork translates to physical production.

You don’t need to be an expert — we will continue to train and refine your skills — but you must already understand the fundamentals of:

  • Spot colors vs CMYK
  • Basic color separations in Illustrator or Photoshop
  • Preparing vector artwork for print
  • File organization and print-ready exports

This role bridges creative design and production. Attention to detail, organization, and a willingness to learn how artwork behaves on press are essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

Production Artwork Responsibilities

  • Prepare and adjust artwork for screen printing, embroidery, and DTF production
  • Create and refine basic color separations (spot color setup, underbases, layer/channel separations)
  • Convert artwork into production-ready files (vector cleanup, outline fonts, correct color modes)
  • Format files for correct sizing, placement, bleed, and garment specifications
  • Assist with embroidery file prep (DST references, sizing adjustments)
  • Prepare mockups and revisions for client approvals
  • Maintain organized digital artwork folders tied directly to production jobs
  • Review files for print-readiness before sending to press

  • ️ Production & Operations Support
  • Support creative and production teams with day-to-day artwork adjustments
  • Help track job progress and artwork revisions using Excel / Google Sheets
  • Assist with order coordination, internal logs, and production documentation
  • Communicate clearly with designers, printers, and management to prevent production errors
  • Ensure artwork aligns with press capabilities and real-world printing limitations

Who This Role Is For

This role is a good fit if you:

  • Have 0–2 years of design or print-related experience
  • Are comfortable using Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop proficiency required for separations)
  • Have basic hands-on experience creating color separations for screen printing
  • Understand spot colors vs CMYK and how artwork translates to press
  • Are organized, reliable, and highly detail-oriented
  • Are comfortable working in a production-focused environment
  • Want to grow your skills beyond aesthetic design and into real manufacturing workflows

  • Important:
This is not a branding-only or marketing design role.
This position focuses on preparing production-ready artwork that goes directly to press.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience working in a print shop or production environment
  • Familiarity with Printavo or similar production management systems
  • Exposure to embroidery file preparation
  • Interest in learning advanced color separation techniques and workflow optimization

Perks & Environment - After one year of employement

  • Paid vacation and sick time
  • Holiday pay
  • Company card for work-related expenses
  • 401k with matching contributions
  • Team events and company merch
  • Pet-friendly shop with Cha Cha & Pelusa
