Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Production Designer to support the development and execution of print-ready packaging and files. This role focuses on preparing production files for gift bags, decorative boxes, and stationery items, creating 3D CAD renderings, revising packaging artwork and related packaging to be used by overseas factories. The ideal candidate has a strong technical design foundation, an eye for accuracy, and an interest in seeing creative concepts through to final production. This is a part-time freelance position, with 20-25 hours of work a week.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare print- and production-ready files for factories, ensuring accuracy in dielines, dimensions, bleeds, color setups, and material callouts
• Create and update 3D CAD renderings for product concepts, including decorative boxes, stationery items, and related components
• Revise and maintain packaging artwork files in Adobe Illustrator based on internal feedback, client requirements, and factory specifications
• Execute production work on existing designs, including resizing, color updates, material changes, and versioning
• Collaborate with production managers to ensure files meet technical and quality standards
• Support ongoing packaging development projects as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (required), with demonstrated experience creating and editing production-ready files
• 0–2 years of experience in production design, packaging, or a related role (internships welcome)
• Strong understanding of print production and packaging fundamentals, including dielines and file setup
• High attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Proficiency in additional Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, InDesign)
• Familiarity with packaging materials, finishes, and print processes
• Experience in consumer products, gifting, or seasonal merchandise

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
