Location: Colorado Springs, CO

This position is open for a Junior Software Engineer able to specialize in applying C++ and Python to modeling and simulation systems. Candidates must meet the general requirements below to be considered.

What You’ll Do

Most of the work you will do uses different capabilities resident in the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software suite. As part of our Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) Team, you will create custom applications and plugins that enable advanced MS&A analysis for our customers. For you to be successful you will need to understand our customers’ missions and their capabilities as well as the overall AFSIM framework. Most of our software engineer have similar backgrounds -- strong pure programming skills -- and they make math look easy. Beyond that, team members wander into areas that pique their own individual interests -- like advanced Aero concepts -- and a few enjoy algorithm development and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications | What You’ll Bring:

  • 0-1 years of entry level experience in Software Engineering
  • C++ and / or Python programming skills
  • Ability to independently develop creative solutions to challenging software engineer problems

Preferred Qualifications | Nice to Haves:

  • Exposure to AFSIM
  • DevSecOps
  • Full-Stack Development

Education/Credentials

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government security clearance.
    • Acceptable - No current clearance but eligibility to obtain.
Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position and work on a computer for prolonged periods.

In support of Colorado pay transparency laws, the estimated salary range for this position is $70k to $85k. Individual pay will be determined on a wide variety of job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training, location, licensure and certifications, skills, budgets, and market.
