Position: Junior Supply Chain Buyer
Job Summary:
As a “Junior Supply Chain Buyer”, you would play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently. Here are some key responsibilities and tasks you might be expected to undertake:
- Sourcing and Procurement: You'll be responsible for sourcing materials and various products from suppliers both domestically and internationally. This involves negotiating prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
- Supplier Management: Maintaining good relationships with suppliers is essential. You'll need to monitor supplier performance, address any issues that arise, and work collaboratively to resolve them. This may include conducting supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality and ethical standards.
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels to ensure that there is enough stock to meet sales demand. This involves forecasting demand, placing orders in a timely manner, and coordinating with production and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Cost Management: Continuously seeking opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery timelines. This could involve identifying alternative suppliers, negotiating better terms, or implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that all the materials/ articles meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements. This involves working closely with suppliers to address any quality issues and implementing quality control processes throughout the supply chain.
- Logistics and Distribution: Coordinating the transportation and distribution of materials/products from suppliers to warehouses and ultimately to customers. This includes selecting transportation providers, optimizing shipping routes, and tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks that could disrupt the supply chain, such as geopolitical issues, natural disasters, or supplier bankruptcies. Developing contingency plans to minimize the impact of these risks on operations.
- Data Analysis: Utilizing data and analytics to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize supply chain processes. This could involve analyzing sales data, inventory levels, and supplier performance metrics to make informed decisions.
- Continuous Improvement: Always seeking ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall performance of the supply chain. This could involve implementing new technologies, streamlining processes, or adopting best practices from other industries.
