Junior Teacher - Year 3-6 (immediate start)

Doha, Qatar

Job Overview

About Ta’allum Group:

The Ta'allum group of schools consists of three popular schools located in South West Doha. Due to oversubscription, there are plans to open two new schools in Doha.

The teaching in our schools follows the English National Curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of our predominantly Qatari students. Islamic Education, Qatar History, and Arabic are also taught by specialist teachers following the national agenda set by the local authorities.

Quality First Teaching is promoted within the Junior School and expectations for teaching and learning in the core subjects of English, Mathematics, and Science are set against UK standards. Our schools are led by experienced UK-trained senior leaders and are predominantly staffed by UK or Western-trained teachers.

We are currently seeking creative and committed KS2 & KS3 Primary trained teachers and potential school leaders with ECT status.

The school has a welcoming environment, where we can provide support and mentoring for teachers new to international education. A number of our Junior School teachers are following MA or NPQ related courses supported by the school. As a school group, we are committed to continuous school improvement and are fully accredited by WASC.

We use UK teaching resources such as Read Write Inc, Talk for Writing, and White Rose Maths, which allows experienced UK teachers to readily adapt to our learning environment and feel 'home from home' in the classroom.

Teachers are provided with a school laptop, have the latest smartboards in their classroom, and have access to a variety of paid online teaching resources to support their planning and delivery.

Classes are small, with an average of 25 students per teaching group.

We have a six-class entry, so each teacher is supported by a close network of peers in each year group.

Teachers are additionally supported by a strong IT team, admin supervisors to help in communication with parents, a strong SEN department, and qualified student counselors.

Generic lesson planning is centrally provided, with classroom teachers required to adapt plans to the needs of their class.

The school places great emphasis on the quality of its teachers. Only skilled and experienced Primary teachers will thus be considered for interview.
