Slide Rule Films is an Emmy Award–winning video production company based in the Boston area. We produce documentary-style and branded content for a range of clients and are looking to bring on a Junior Video Editor (Final Cut Pro) / Videographer – Part Time to support ongoing productions.

This is a paid, real-world production role with opportunities to develop skills in both post-production and on-set filmmaking. This is a temporary position lasting 30 days at no less than 20 hours per week to help get us through our backlog. Opportunities to work more hours during the temp period may be available. Opportunities for work with Slide Rule Films after the 30 days may also be available.

Position Details

• Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
• Pay: $25–$35 per hour (based on experience)
• Location: Hybrid — remote editing with occasional in-person shoot days in the Boston area
• Type: Part-time (not an internship)

Responsibilities

• Assist with editing projects in Final Cut Pro remotely
• Organize footage, manage media, and support post-production workflows
• Assist on production shoots as a camera or production assistant
• Working as solo videographer on simple b-roll shoots
• Help with equipment setup and breakdown
• Support general production tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Owns and is proficient in Final Cut Pro
• Ability to capture well-composed, properly exposed footage in basic shooting situations
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Interest in documentary-style and branded video production
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Owning a basic camera package is strongly preferred
• Boston-area availability for occasional in-person shoots
• Experience with After Effects is strongly preferred
