Junior Welder/Fabricator

We are currently seeking a junior welder/fabricator for our busy workshop located on Severalls Industrial Estate Colchester, Essex. The roles will predominately be fabrication of Drainage stainless steel work.

The ideal candidates will have experience within a similar role, able to work well on their own, and in a team. Have a good attitude towards ensuring your work is completed effectively each day. Must be health & safety conscious and aware of dangers when working with machinery & heavy goods.

TIG and MIG welding skills required.

Ability to sand and polish thin gauge stainless steel required.

Candidate must be prepared to take a welding test at interview stage, the role will be initial for a 6-month probation period, leading to permanent full time employment for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have had at least 1 years experience in a junior welding position and additional training will be given. They must be able to understand and work to instructions and engineering drawings. Please note that this is a full time position.

Skills required:

• Fabrication
• TIG welding
• MIG welding
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Desired Skills although training will be given :

• Experience using steel fabrication machinery
• Fabricate to instructions or drawings
• Setting and operation of machinery eg. Saw, brake press, guillotine etc.
• Welding on stainless steel
• Marking and setting out of work
• Hours 6am to 3pm Monday to Thursday 7am to 1pm Friday

Punctuality and reliability essential.

Salary in line with national minimum wage regulations.
