Department: Justice Integration / Outreach

Reports To: Director of Operations or Justice Integration Program Supervisor

Employment Status: Full‑Time

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary

The Justice Liaison serves as the primary point of contact between Sanctuary Recovery Centers and justice system partners, including courts, probation, parole, and reentry programs. This role is responsible for strengthening referral relationships, supporting client compliance with justice‑involved requirements, and coordinating services that promote treatment engagement, stability, and reduced recidivism for justice‑involved individuals.

The Justice Liaison acts as a structured bridge between justice systems, treatment teams, and community resources to ensure clear communication, accountability, and continuity of care.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sanctuary Recovery Centers and justice system partners, including courts, probation officers, parole officers, specialty courts, and diversion programs
  • Maintain regular communication with justice partners regarding referrals, participant progress, compliance issues, and program requirements
  • Support justice‑involved clients in understanding and complying with court‑ordered or program‑required conditions
  • Coordinate with internal clinical teams, case management, and peer support staff to align treatment services with justice system expectations
  • Assist in intake coordination and referral processing for justice‑involved clients entering services
  • Provide structured support and advocacy to reduce barriers related to housing, employment, transportation, and treatment engagement
  • Document all interactions, referrals, and coordination activities accurately and timely in required systems
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case staffing, and justice‑focused program planning
  • Represent Sanctuary Recovery Centers at justice system meetings, outreach events, and community collaborations as assigned
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, ADHS, and organizational policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support justice integration initiatives

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Experience working with justice‑involved populations, behavioral health, addiction treatment, or reentry services
  • Strong knowledge of court systems, probation/parole processes, or justice‑involved service coordination
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow‑through skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with external partners
  • Strong documentation and time‑management skills
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Behavioral Health, or related field
  • Experience in a liaison, outreach, case management, or peer support role
  • Knowledge of trauma‑informed care, motivational interviewing, or solution‑focused approaches
  • Familiarity with electronic health records or case management systems

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in office, treatment, court, and community settings
  • May require travel to courts, probation offices, or partner locations
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and engage directly with clients and external partners
