K-12 Online Tutor

Job Summary

Thrive Academics provides online tutoring services to support students across grade levels in Math and English Language Arts. Tutors meet with students virtually to strengthen comprehension, engage students and deliver meaningful support aligned with existing systems of intervention in a flexible learning environment. Tutors will use the student’s existing class materials and assignments to guide understanding, encourage independent learning, and foster academic confidence.

Job Summary:

Thrive Academics provides virtual tutoring services to support K–12 students in various subjects (Math, Science, History, Language Arts/English). Tutors meet with students online to reinforce classroom instruction, build comprehension, and strengthen study skills in a supportive virtual, 1:1 ratio environment. Scheduling is flexible within the hours of 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with each student receiving up to four hours of tutoring per week, held across two sessions.

This position requires residency in Nevada, Washington or Oregon due to payroll and program requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, student-centered virtual tutoring sessions focused on comprehension, study skills, and academic growth.
  • Reinforce classroom instruction by reviewing concepts, providing practice opportunities, and clarifying areas of confusion.
  • Communicate regularly with students’ parents and Thrive Academics staff to ensure consistent progress and support.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit each student’s learning style and academic level.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions, attendance, and student progress reports.
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions over phone calls, or virtually as needed to align with Thrive Academics standards and best practices.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of 60 completed college credits (or currently enrolled in a college or university program).
  • Experience: Prior tutoring experience or experience working with children is strongly preferred.
  • Technology: Reliable laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection suitable for video conferencing.
  • Communication: Must be comfortable collaborating professionally with parents, students, and Thrive Academics staff via phone, email, and virtual platforms.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
