K-12 Substitute Teacher

Duties

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher, ensuring smooth instructional flow
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all students
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including early childhood education and special education students
• Engage students with interactive activities that promote literacy, math skills, and overall childhood development
• Collaborate with school staff to support classroom routines, behavior management, and individualized learning plans
• Maintain student safety and discipline throughout the school day
• Document daily activities, student attendance, and any notable incidents accurately

Skills

• Strong communication skills to clearly convey instructions and foster positive relationships with students and staff
• Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and tutoring across various subjects such as literacy education and math
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques to create a productive learning environment
• Familiarity with early childhood education principles, Montessori methods, or preschool experience is a plus
• Ability to work effectively with children of different ages, including those with autism or special needs
• Demonstrated patience and adaptability in dynamic classroom settings
• Understanding of childhood development stages and appropriate instructional strategies
