K-5 Librarian/Technology Teacher '26/'27 SY

Position Summary:

We are looking for a creative, flexible teacher to join our team of seasoned educators who will model, uphold, and facilitate the school mission through Library and Technology classes in Kindergarten through 5th grade.


Major Duties & Responsibilities
:

  • Develop, organize, and maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date library collection
  • Teach students how to use the library and how to access information effectively and efficiently
  • Provide individual and group instruction on library and research skills
  • Collaborate with teachers to support the curriculum and promote reading and lifelong learning
  • Plan and conduct programs and events to promote the library and encourage student involvement
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting procedures related to circulation and collection management
  • Work collaboratively with the other staff members in the building to assist them with educational technology needs
  • Collaborate with the building principal on technology updates
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the computer lab materials
  • Teach internet safety including personal responsibility for technology use

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with library technology and automation systems
  • Ability to integrate technology into library services and programs
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in school librarianship
  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or related field is required
  • Prior experience desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas
  • Ability to develop lesson plans and successfully instruct students in theories, methods and tasks
  • Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
  • Capacity to supervise individual and group work
  • Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent classroom management skills
