Position Summary

PODER Academy is seeking a passionate, committed, and mission-aligned K–6 Classroom Teacher who believes that all students can achieve at high levels. The ideal candidate embraces high expectations, data-driven instruction, and a strong work ethic in service of student success.

Teachers at PODER Academy are part of a high-performing team that utilizes a proven instructional model requiring focus, dedication, and determination. This role includes delivering whole-group and small-group instruction in reading, language arts, and mathematics, supervising students, and actively participating in tutoring and enrichment as needed to ensure academic growth for all learners.

Teachers are expected to uphold rigorous instructional standards, maintain strong classroom culture, and commit to continuous professional growth.

Work Schedule

  • Regular hours: Willingness to work hard and maintain a schedule of 7:40 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday–Friday), with extended hours until 5:00 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays for extra tutoring. Wednesdays and Thursdays are designated for professional development sessions, held once or twice a month from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Lunch: One-hour uninterrupted lunch break provided daily

Qualifications

  • Wyoming State Department of Education certification appropriate for grade level and subject
  • BA or BS degree required
  • Highly Qualified status
  • Endorsement as an Elementary Teacher (K–6) in Wyoming
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Passion for teaching diverse student populations, including free/reduced lunch students
  • Willingness to work hard, maintain flexibility, and commit to long hours when needed
  • Experience working with K–6 students and/or diverse learners
  • Strong collaboration skills; must be a team player
  • Multiple certifications/endorsements preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required

Compensation & Salary Growth

  • Starting salary: $51,500 plus a signing bonus
  • Guaranteed salary increases:
  • 7.5% annually for the first three years
  • 5.5% annually for the subsequent three years
  • 3.5% annually for the following three years
  • Ongoing 2.5%–3.0% annual increases thereafter based on cost of living
  • Performance Bonuses:
  • 3rd–6th grade teachers are eligible for annual bonuses for each WY-TOPP performance area
