K2-K6 Reading and Speaking English Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and engaging K2–6 Reading & Speaking English Teacher to teach young Chinese learners in online classes.

This role focuses on close reading, phonics, vocabulary building, speaking, and oral expression for students in kindergarten through Grade 6. The ideal candidate is warm, interactive, skilled at working with young learners, and able to help students build both reading ability and spoken confidence in English.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality online lessons for students in K2–Grade 6

Teach close reading, phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and speaking/oral expression

Lead engaging, interactive lessons that combine listening, speaking, reading, and writing

Adapt lessons to each student’s age, English level, and learning needs

Use effective strategies to support young Chinese learners in building fluency and confidence

Assign and review homework, reading tasks, and speaking practice

Track student progress and provide clear feedback to parents and academic coordinators

Use online teaching tools such as Zoom, Google Classroom, ClassIn, and digital whiteboards

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, English, Early Childhood Education, Linguistics, ESL, Reading, or a related field

At least 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with young learners

Strong ability to teach phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and oral English

Experience teaching students in K–6 / elementary school age groups

Strong classroom engagement skills and ability to keep young learners focused online

Patient, responsible, energetic, and highly communicative

Comfortable using online teaching platforms and digital tools

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching Chinese students or multilingual learners

Experience in ESL / ELL / ELA / early literacy / phonics instruction

Teaching certifications such as TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, PGCE, or state teaching license

Bilingual ability in English and Mandarin Chinese is a plus

Availability during weekday evenings and/or weekends

Compensation:

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
