Do you love dogs, enjoy the outdoors, and want a physically active, purpose-driven job? Lake Country K9 to 5 is looking for a dependable, safety-focused K9 Adventure Specialist to join our team.
This is not a casual dog-walking position. This role requires confidence, awareness, and responsibility while managing small groups of large dogs in real-world environments.
About the Role
As a K9 Adventure Specialist, you are responsible for the safety, structure, and enrichment of up to 5 large-breed dogs (60+ lbs) at a time. Your days will include guided group hikes on local trails, structured outings to pet-friendly locations, and supervised off-leash play at our facility during inclement weather.
We strictly follow force-free, LIMA-based handling protocols, and all team members are expected to uphold these standards at all times.
Pay:
$15.50 per Hour Starting PLUS .65 per mile
- mileage pay adds an average of an additional $3-$6 per hour
- Hourly Pay Raise after 90 days BASED ON Attendance, performance & Online Training Certifications completed.
Shifts run from 8:30 AM–1:30 PM, giving you active mornings and free afternoons.
What You’ll Do
- Safely pick up and drop off dogs at client homes (8:30–9:30 AM)
- Manage and guide group hikes with up to 5 large dogs
- Provide structured enrichment and off-leash play when weather requires
- Maintain control, safety, and positive group dynamics at all times
- Transport dogs safely using your own vehicle
- Handle routine cleanup (poop pickup, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping)
- Communicate with the team via smartphone throughout your shift
Our Ideal Candidate
- Available Thursdays, 8:30 AM–1:30PM; occasionally willing to pickup other days a bonus
- Experienced with positive reinforcement and LIMA handling techniques
- Comfortable managing multiple large dogs on leash
- Physically active and capable of hiking for several hours
- Owns an SUV or larger vehicle suitable for dog transport
- Reliable, punctual, and highly safety-oriented
- Strong time-management and attention to detail
- Coachable and willing to complete required online training before working with dogs
- Has a smartphone for scheduling and communication
