Kayak Rental Specialist

Overview
Join our vibrant outdoor recreation team as a Kayak Rental Specialist. We have been in business on the Ausable River for over 15 years and we are seeking motivated and energetic individuals to enjoy summer renting paddle sports to our patrons! Seasonal summer job starting June 1st through around September 1st. Fun summer job!

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide detailed instructions on kayak usage, safety procedures, and rental policies
• Manage daily inventory of kayaks, paddles, life jackets, and related equipment to ensure availability and proper maintenance
• Facilitate the rental process by accurately entering payment into Square POS system
• Promote additional rental options, memberships, or packages to enhance guest engagement and sales performance
• Conduct routine inspections of kayaks and equipment to ensure safety standards are met and perform basic maintenance or coordinate repairs as needed
• Assist by answering phone inquiries, scheduling reservations, and providing information about activities and local attractions
• Maintain organized records of rentals, inventory logs, and customer interactions to support efficient operations
• Help customers into and out of the kayaks
• Clean kayaks

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone
• Ability to lift/drag 50 pounds
• Experience in retail sales or public speaking to confidently promote products and services
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for safety inspections and maintenance schedules
• Public speaking capabilities to confidently present safety instructions or promotional information
