Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Technician/Receptionist to join our team at The Kennel @ Kerrville Veterinary Clinic. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and management of animals in our boarding facility, ensuring their comfort and safety while providing top-notch service to pet owners.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising according to their needs and schedule.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kennel areas to ensure a safe environment according to kennel protocols.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
• Assist with animal handling during service procedures as needed.
• Medication administration as directed by a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician
• Assist with basic grooming and bathing tasks.
• Support pet owners with questions regarding their pets' care and boarding needs.
• Participate in training sessions for proper animal handling techniques
• Administrative duties as Receptionist, answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking out customers, invoicing transactions
• Maintaining accurate records of animal care and observations
• Customer service is a must as being able to communicate and providing care instructions to clients

Requirements

• Experience in animal care or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and staff.
• Willingness to learn about veterinary practices and procedures.
• Administration skills with computer software experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
