Position Purpose
The KG English Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for implementation of and delivering, through quality teaching, the Ministry's Curriculum of Arabic in the UAE for Muslim (and where applicable, non-Muslim) students at an elementary school level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Create units and plans for each of the courses assigned in line with the Ministry of Education requirements.
- Plan, initiate and guide the academic curriculum
- Use excellent subject knowledge, pedagogic and interpersonal skills to enthuse children and enable children to enjoy learning
- Foster the appreciation of the cultural differences in the UAE today
- Engage and motivate children to achieve at levels that are beyond their expectations and previous accomplishments
- Ensure identified students have appropriate inclusion support and consideration within all programmes
- Make use of ICT and new technologies to support language development and understanding
- Create and evaluate assessments of each student's work and keep records updated
- Evaluate each student's performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports
- Communicate openly and professionally with parents on a regular basis about the attainment and progress of their child
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality when speaking to parents and external parties
- Use teaching methods to engage students, stimulating intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, presentation and resources
- Set high expectations for students behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behaviour management through well focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships
- Contribute to the extra curricular activities programme
- Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities
- Co operate with colleagues to establish and maintain fair, consistent and positive behaviour management in the classroom, around the school and on school trips
- Actively support the school partnership with the community - attending school / community events which may occasionally occur at weekends or in the evening
- Maintaining excellent professional relationships with colleagues by making a wider professional contribution to the continuing improvement of the school
- Contribute to a culture where teachers view themselves as facilitators of learning and are reflective practitioners
- Participate in ongoing in service and education development opportunities
- Other responsibilities as reasonably requested.

Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor
- Teaching Experience: 2+ years
- Licenses & Certifications: Teaching Credential/License
- Additional School Requirements:
- If Bachelor's Degree in other fields below certification required
- A recognized Teaching qualification (i.e. Qualified Teacher Status)
- A recognized PGCE- Postgraduate Certificate in Education
- 2 years' experience in an American curriculum would be an advantage
