CPC Kids’ Academy at Community Presbyterian Church has served children and families since 1979 and is highly regarded for its high standard of excellence in academic and social development. CPC Kids’ Academy serves children 2.5 yrs and older from Clarendon Hills and neighboring communities. Our small, not for profit school has the ability to care for and educate up to 76 children in a calm and peaceful environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations
- Manage budget, including tuition and other finances ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with all DCFS regulations and NAEYC standards.
- Prepare KA and all staff for DCFS visits and periodic reviews to maintain NAEYC recognition.
- Apply knowledge and experience in effective systems for communication with families and community. Participate in marketing events and community relations.
- Ensure successful implementation of curriculum, working closely with lead teachers at all levels.
- Recruit, hire and oversee staff development; including staff meetings, professional development days and performance reviews.
- Actively develop and maintain positive staff relationships and parent partnerships
- Provide accurate time record keeping for processing payroll.
- Attend monthly evening meetings of the Kids’ Academy Board; proactively keep this group informed of current operations and future plans
- Develop consistent marketing strategy to ensure community knowledge of CPC Kids’ Academy
- Conduct program registration, maintaining appropriate files and waiting lists
- Maintain high enrollment capacity
- Effectively maintain relationships with administration at local public schools serviced by Academy
- Maintain accurate job descriptions for all staff positions
- Complete monthly observations in all classrooms with written reviews shared with teachers.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- 3+ years experience as a Director with solid leadership experience and the ability to develop, engage, and inspire a team
- Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential
- Knowledge of and experience with NAEYC standards, regulations, and requirements.
- Meet all Illinois DCFS Director Certification requirements
- Ability to vision a future and create plans to achieve it
- Ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, or elementary education with 3+ years of teaching experience
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Computer Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, knowledge of Procare Software a plus
