WHO YOU’LL CARE FOR :We have two children. Both attend school; our daughter age 3, goes for half a day, while our son, age 6, goes for a full day.

OUR CHILDREN ARE: The loveliest little balance! Our daughter is the quintessential "girls' girl." She is content, calm, and amicable. She enjoys dolls, coloring, and baking. Our son embodies a balance of roughhousing rambunctiousness and quieter activities like playing chess or building with Legos. He can be a bit on the trickier side, so we appreciate someone who can be lovingly firm with him. A super strong disciplinarian personality wouldn't mesh well with our son, nor would a meek one. He needs jovial, fun, that recognizes when he is sensitive but also can be firm so he feels he is in a safe capable pair of hands.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR: A new, trusted family member who is vibrant, enthusiastic, and full of energy to support us. Our ideal candidate should be safe, responsible, detail-oriented, but also fun and playful—think of a camp counselor! Our family is taking on Bridgehampton after nearly five years in England, leaving behind our wonderful support system. We love Montessori and Waldorf but are less familiar with the other approaches. We believe child-led is important and we want to protect their innate love of learning. Our children do respond well to routines and structure and organization when it comes to learning and their environment being set up for activities. Being bilingual is a huge plus as we value learning other languages, especially French and Spanish.

We have a full-time housekeeper who also assists with the kids, but she isn't available for evenings, weekends, or travel during holidays. We likely can't commit to a set schedule because the support we need is more ad-hoc. We think someone taking a gap year from college or working on something that allows for a part-time commitment would be ideal.

My husband works from home, and our father-in-law lives with us, so you must be comfortable being around our casual family environment! We view nannies as professionals and, therefore, are committed to maintaining clear expectations and boundaries to set everyone up for success! Additionally, we are looking for a nanny who:

● Is attentive to allergens and dietary restrictions. It is helpful if you feel comfortable learning different therapy protocols for the kids. Nothing is complicated or medical but requires an ability to learn and be detail oriented.

● Is comfortable transporting children daily to school, extracurricular activities, and other social events. We will provide a vehicle.

● Is an advanced swimmer and comfortable with water supervision. We have a pool and the kids love to swim. They also like to go down to the beach and enjoy being around the ocean so swimming supervision will be required and the utmost care for ensuring watching them will be needed as our three year old is still learning how to swim.

●Has the ability to join us on occasional trips, as we may travel from time to time. I don’t enjoy flying; however, my husband takes our son on trips, or we go together to NYC, and we need extra hands. .

●Is confident with dogs. We also have a gentle giant, Duke, who is a Great Dane under 2 years old and still has that puppy exuberance. He is a total sweetheart! We all are involved in his care.

● Will happily assist with all details pertaining children.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

RATE: $40-50/hour. This varies based on experience. We are flexible!

SCHEDULE: The ad hoc care will be sporadic, primarily during evenings and some weekends, to be determined. We are very flexible and would ideally prefer evenings, weekends, and holidays, but we can also accommodate various days or weeks when my husband is away.
