Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Kindergarten Teacher to inspire and nurture the youngest learners in our vibrant educational community. As a Kindergarten Teacher, you will create a joyful, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters early childhood development and love for learning. Your role is vital in laying the foundation for students’ academic success and social-emotional growth, ensuring each child feels valued, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, incorporating curriculum development principles to support literacy, math, science, social studies, and creative arts.
  • Create a warm and welcoming classroom atmosphere that promotes positive behavior management and encourages curiosity and independence.
  • Use learning technology effectively to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing when appropriate, to inform instruction and provide targeted tutoring or intervention.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists (such as special education teachers or speech therapists), and parents to support each child's individual learning journey.
  • Incorporate teaching physical education activities to promote gross motor skills, coordination, and overall health.
  • Engage in classroom management strategies that foster a safe, respectful environment conducive to active learning.
  • Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants by sharing best practices in early childhood education, classroom management, and behavior guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and developmental milestones in compliance with education administration policies.
  • Support library services by integrating literacy education resources into daily activities.
  • Adapt teaching methods for children with autism or other special needs through early intervention techniques and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a related field; Montessori or other specialized certifications are a plus.
  • Proven classroom experience working with young children in an educational setting; private school experience is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles, literacy education, math fundamentals, and behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with working with children with diverse needs including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Experience integrating learning technology tools into lesson planning and instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative curricula that incorporate library services and promote active engagement.
  • Skills in proofreading written materials for clarity and accuracy; writing skills are essential for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports children’s social-emotional growth.
