Kindergarten/(K-5) Elementary School Teacher

Job Overview:
We are seeking one full-time OR part-time experienced and dedicated Elementary School Teachers to join our private school team. We have very small class sizes with 1-7 students per class. The ideal candidate(s) is open to teaching students ranging Kindergarten through fifth grade and has a passion for teaching and working with students of diverse abilities/backgrounds. Charis Language Immersion Academy is a newly-established Mandarin-English dual language Christian school in Greenville, SC. All students learn Mandarin by immersion for half a day and English for the other half of the day. The "English Teacher(s)" will be hired to teach English reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. Charis Academy strives to provide a rigorous academic curriculum while cultivating a positive learning environment that emphasizes on virtues such as kindness, respect, love, compassion, and self-control.

Duties:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that are standards-based and cater to the needs of students with various learning styles and abilities

- Write detailed curriculum maps and lesson plans for each class and log weekly student progress.

- Communicate homework requirements with parents

- Carry out effective classroom management strategies to ensure all students are motivated to complete classwork and tasks.
- Provide individualized plans to students with various needs, including those with ADHD and ASD.

- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Encourage and foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.

- Support the functions of the school and promote its mission and vision

Qualifications:
- Preferred: Certified Teacher (current or past) with experience/passion in education

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or a related field.
- Experience working with students in an elementary school setting, including those with special needs and accommodations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to prepare detailed lesson plans and reports.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Commitment to the principles of inclusion and equity in education.

- Is a born-again believer of Jesus Christ or is receptive to the Christian faith

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Base Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
