Kitchen Aide/Van Driver

Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. was established in 1965 with a mission to combat poverty and improve the quality of life for low-income individuals and families in Steuben and Yates counties. Summary of job duties

Provide assistance with the preparation of food as well as perform various cleaning, stocking etc. The delivery driver will deliver meals to Home Delivered Meals customers in accordance with established routes and guidelines. In addition, the driver will perform a basic observation of the customer upon delivery and report any noticeable concerns to the supervisor.

Ideal skills

• Able to prepare meal ingredients for the cook, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing ingredients.
• Maintain the cleanliness of dishes, workstations, and food storage facilities.
• Package meals in portions.
• Maintain strict level of confidentiality.

A High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in food service, food preparation, or food safety is recommended but not required.

The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meeting agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
