Position Summary

The Kitchen Assistant supports the daily operations of the production kitchen, helping to ensure all gelato bases, toppings, and ingredients are prepared efficiently. This rol includes the preparation of cookies, brownies, pralines, sauces, and other handmade confections. This role is essential to maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency in the kitchen while ensuring that every Benedetto product meets our high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily gelato production and preparation.
• Weigh, measure, and organize ingredients before batching.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work surfaces.
• Support inventory organization and ingredient storage.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to ensure consistency and smooth workflow.
• Support in baking and preparation of cookies, brownies, pralines, and inclusions used for gelato and retail sales.
• Assist in daily mise en place and ensure ingredients are prepped ahead of shifts.
• Follow recipes and directions provided by the Head Chef.
• Maintain kitchen safety and hygiene according to company standards.
• Support closing and end-of-day cleaning routines.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food production environment preferred (not required).
• Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Positive attitude and ability to follow instructions carefully.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part-Time: Approx. 20 hours per week
• Rate: $17–$18/hour depending on experience
• Flexible schedule with possibility of additional hours during peak seasons
