Kitchen, Bath & Additions Designer
Full-Time | Design-Build Remodeling Firm
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Kitchen, Bath & Additions Designer to join our collaborative design-build team. This is a non-sales, design-focused role that supports our sales and project development staff by providing strong design expertise, technical drawings, and visualizations.
This position is ideal for a designer who enjoys working behind the scenes to bring concepts to life, translate ideas into build-ready plans, and collaborate closely with internal teams. While this role participates in the selections process, it is not responsible for leading or closing sales, nor for managing the selections process independently.
If you thrive in a supportive, team-based environment and are passionate about residential remodeling design, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Development
- Create thoughtful, functional kitchen and bathroom designs that align with client needs and project scope
- Develop space plans, elevations, cabinetry layouts, and detailed design drawings
- Produce high-quality 3D renderings using Chief Architect or similar software
- Prepare accurate cabinet layouts and schedules suitable for manufacturer ordering
- Conduct on-site field measurements to ensure design accuracy
Additions Design Support
- Translate conceptual sketches and ideas into 3D models and visual renderings for residential additions
- Assist with the design of home additions including primary suites, expanded kitchens, second-story additions, and other living space expansions
- Support early feasibility discussions through visual concepts and layout studies
Sales & Selections Support (Non-Sales Role)
- Support the sales staff by providing design expertise and visual tools during the pre-construction phase
- Support the sales staff with material and product selections such as cabinetry, countertops, tile, fixtures, hardware, and lighting
- Help prepare selections documentation and design visuals, without being the primary owner of the selections process
- Participate in design meetings as a technical and creative resource—not as a salesperson or project closer
Project Coordination
- Collaborate closely with sales, project developers, and production staff throughout the design phase
- Manage multiple active design projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining clear internal communication
Professional Growth
- Stay current on kitchen, bath, and residential addition design trends, materials, and vendor offerings
- Apply NKBA guidelines and space-planning standards to all applicable projects
- Contribute creative, solution-oriented ideas to design challenges
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of residential kitchen and bath design experience
- Proficiency in Chief Architect or similar industry software
- Strong understanding of cabinetry, kitchen and bath layouts, and residential construction fundamentals
- Ability to produce precise technical drawings and detailed design documentation
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a support-focused role
- Portfolio must be submitted demonstrating kitchen, bath, and residential addition design work
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred / Stand-Out Qualifications
- NKBA Certification preferred but not required
- Experience with custom or semi-custom cabinetry lines
- Background working in a design-build remodeling firm
- Familiarity with local residential codes and permitting processes
- Experience creating 3D concepts for home additions

- Seeking a sales, commission-based, or client-closing role
- Looking to independently manage or “own” the selections process from start to finish
- Expecting to drive leads, negotiate contracts, or close remodeling projects
- Not experienced with residential construction constraints, measurements, and real-world build considerations
